The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has turned out to be the only party that has not taken up an indefinite hunger strike for the cause of the power crisis but it has justified its stand saying the other parties are only resorting to “election gimmicks”.
The TRS was genuinely concerned about the problem and hence extended its support to the State bandh called by Left parties on April 9. But, it did not want to be part of the “election drama” enacted by other parties, said former TRS Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy.
But the TRS confined itself to a 24 hour hunger strike near the office of the AP Northern Power Distribution Company at Warangal and a demonstration at Vidyut Soudha here.
Mr. Narasimha Reddy said the other parties were protesting as part of a blame game.
Why did the TDP not support the no-confidence motion moved by TRS if the former was committed to dislodging the government for its failures? he questioned.
