it will be nostalgic moments at Chavara Thattassery on the evening of December 6 when the socio-political Malayalam drama ‘Ningalenne Communistakki’ will be staged once more, marking the 60th anniversary of the staging of the play.
It was at the same venue on the same day in 1952 that the drama was staged first.
The Kerala Peoples Arts Club (KPAC) is making elaborate arrangements to make the occasion both nostalgic and grand. In 1953, the drama was banned but KPAC managed to lift the ban after two months by moving the court. The drama was made into a Malayalam film in 1970 with Prem Nazir and Sheela in the lead. The events for celebrating the anniversary of the staging of the play will begin in the morning with a singing competition of KPAC drama songs and a seminar on ‘Ningalenne Communistakki and Kerala society’.
