The Trinamool Congress leadership said here on Thursday that it would take out a “mourning procession” on Friday with the bodies of three party supporters who were allegedly killed by CPI (M) cadres in Bardhaman district over the past two days.
Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to participate in the procession and the party will observe ‘Black Day' on Friday, according to sources.
Ms. Banerjee, who arrived here from New Delhi on Thursday morning, held an emergency meeting with senior party leaders where it was decided that a mourning procession with the three bodies would be taken out in protest against the terror and violence allegedly spread by the CPI (M) across the State.
The body of a Trinamool supporter, Dilip Ghosh, was found at Kandra village in Bardhaman's Mangalkot area early on Thursday, a day after two other party supporters -- Tapas saha and Sukhiram Saha -- were hacked to death in neighbouring Ketugram area.
Visit to killing sites
A team of Trinamool leaders led by Union Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Ray was dispatched by her in the morning to visit the sites of the killings and make arrangements to bring the bodies to the city.
The three bodies were kept in a funeral parlour on Thursday night.
