: The Trinamool Congress government is a government that does not do what it says and says what it never does, according to Leader of the Opposition Surjya Kanta Mishra.

He was referring to advertisements “amounting to crores of rupees published in newspapers” and the slew of projects being inaugurated by the Trinamool government over the past few day that were aimed at garnering people’s support for the coming Lok Sabha polls.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated 130 projects in a single day recently, Dr. Mishra, who is also a member of the Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), said here on Monday, adding people would not be swayed by such campaigns.

Referring to her comments made at an event on March 1 where she said, “Our fielding is very good, batting is good and the umpire is also good,” Dr. Mishra said: “It is good that Ms. Banerjee has admitted that she is an all- rounder. The person who is doing batting, bowling and fielding is also the umpire giving decisions on no-balls and leg-before wickets.”

No expectations

Dr. Mishra said he had no expectations of the Trinamool government behaving in a politically neutral manner as far as government employees were concerned.

In many cases, those with opposite political views were put on compulsory waiting, he alleged.
