Appointment orders given to 324 teachers

Tiruvannamalai: The district has achieved zero vacancy position in secondary grade teacher postings, after the appointment of 324 teachers in primary and middle schools in the district, who received their orders on Monday, Tiruvannamalai Collector M. Rajendran said here on Monday. The Collector was distributing orders to all these teachers most of whom hail from southern districts, at an event organised at the Collectorate.

Dr. Rajendran said “Tiruvannamalai is an educationally backward district and as per pass percentage of students in public examinations, the district notches the 31st place among 32 districts in the State”. He called upon the teachers not to try to get transferred back to their native districts soon after joining the work.

“As the foundation is vital for a construction, primary education is important for the future of children. You should try to create an atmosphere where students could be developed by showing compassion and love rather than punishing them. Imagining those working in private schools with great difficulty and you teachers should perform your duties with dedication” he said, urging the teachers to strive hard to uplift the district educationally.

The teachers were recruited by the Teachers Recruitment Board, based on the State-level seniority of registration, rather than the district seniority that was in practice earlier.

DRO S.Viswanathan, Project Officer, DRDA, B. R. K. Ramesh, Chief Educational Officer V. Balamurugan, District Elementary Education Officer Padmini Sundarrajan and, Information and Public Relations Officer V.Thangaraj were among the participants.
