The City Police on Friday arrested a youth hailing from Bihar, on the charge of cheating customers at ATM centre by withdrawing cash from their account.

The police said that three youth were found wandering outside the ATM of State Bank of Hyderabad at Mulvadi Gate on Thursday night. Bank officials informed the police who in turn took Pramod Kumar (26) into custody.

The other two ran away. Investigations revealed that the gang used to wait outside the ATM centre in the pretext of helping customers in operating the machine and withdrawing cash.

While doing so, the gang would return an expierd ATM card to the customers and retain the original card.

Later, they would operate the account and withdraw cash.

The police said that three ATM cards were seized from them and they could have done this trick at five or six places.
