AMBUR: Members of the Ambur Town Youth Congress staged a protest here on Wednesday to urge the State Government to shift the Electricity Board Executive Engineer Office from Pallikondan to Ambur here.

M. Nethaji, president, Ambur Town Youth Congress, led the protest. M. Buvaneswaran, Youth Congress district general secretary presided. The protestors said that consumers found it very difficult to go to Pallikondan, which was 40 km away from Ambur. Ambur required a separate EE office, as there were over 3.5 lakh consumers. The EB generated revenue of Rs.8 crore.
