Cover five districts in the central region
TIRUCHI: The first edition of the GETIT Yellow Pages and Corporate Pages of Tiruchi region, a directory of business, services and corporate listings, was released here on Thursday.
The directory, with about 13,000 business listings under 1,673 categories, covers Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Karur, Perambalur and Pudukottai districts. The directory features a user-friendly fast-find index to locate products and services, separate corporate pages and an index of leading brands.
It includes a `Trust Me' certified listing under which services and businesses are verified and certified for reliability by GETIT Infomediary Limited and Credibility First, a division of CRISIL, the rating agency.
About 60,000 copies of the directory would be distributed free of cost in Tiruchi and its neighbouring districts. CD-ROMs of the directory would be available for free distribution within the next couple of weeks. Business listings of subscribers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and private telecom service providers have been included in the directory.
Customers of all these service providers could obtain the directory from the Directory Distribution Centre located at VI Cross Thillai Nagar in Tiruchi by furnishing a copy of their latest telephone bill or visiting card, the Chief General Manager (Sales) of GETIT Infomediary Limited, K.D.Kini told mediapersons here on Thursday.
Copies would be made available through fuel stations too and distribution will commence on Friday. Subscribers can call 4220111 to get copies of the directory. The directory could be accessed through the Internet at www.getit.com soon. Details of the listings could be obtained through a 24-hour tele-information service by dialling 4444444.
Mr. Kini said that GETIT Yellow Pages were available in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli and Vellore. The directory for Erode will be released shortly while Puducherry would get its second edition soon. The company planned to cover about 100 cities across over the next three years. Currently, GETTIT publishes Yellow Pages for about 32 cities.
More in the offing
The company planned to provide its services through General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), short-messaging services and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), Mr. Kini said.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) S. Lakshmi released the first copy of the Yellow Pages, which was received by the Chairman of Vasan Health Care Group, A.M. Arun. The President of the Chamber of Commerce, L. Gnanaraj, inaugurated the tele-information service.
