PUDUKOTTAI: Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing and J. J. Institute of Nursing jointly celebrated the World Nurses Day – the birth anniversary of Florance Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing, on Wednesday.

Banumathi Philomina, Nursing Superintendent, Grade I, Government Headquarters Hospital, was the chief guest.

Lally Chakkunni, also Nursing Superintendent, Government Headquarters Hospital, said that nurses had to play the role of mothers.

The nursing students should practice universal precautions.

S. Sumithra, principal, Karpaga Vinayaga College of Nursing, in her Nurses Day address, said that nursing was an art as well as science.
