TIRUPUR: In an effort aimed at creating awareness on tapping full potential of the European market among knitwear exporters and fashion designers, the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industries is organising a three-day seminar-cum-workshop between June 22 and 24 here in association with Textiles Committee (TC) and NIFT-TEA Knitwear Fashion Institute.
According to G. Venugopal, cluster development agent of TC, the workshop is being organised under the 18-month capacity-building project, `Fashion know-how and business development of Euro-Indian partners.'
On the importance of the project, he said that a diagnostic study of Tirupur cluster revealed that Tirupur apart from "being a mere converter'' of design specifications given by the foreign buyers into garments should aim for value addition by understanding the buying trends of different countries in terms of colour, fashion forecast and fabric collections suitable for different applications.
Interested persons can call Mr. Venugopal at 98422 32062 or K.J. Sivagnanam, vice-principal of NIFT TEA Institute at 98942 92922 for registration.
