150 deprived children stand to benefit

TIRUNELVELI: Tamil Development and Cultural Centre and Siva Trust are jointly conducting a three-day workshop from January 15 to enrich the children’s creativity, in which 150 deprived children are participating.

According to T.T. Ramesh Raja and T. Karikaalan of TDCC, children between 9 and 15 years of age and from poor background participate in the workshop in which their talents in drawing, clay modelling, mask preparing, folk dances, singing, story telling, acting, bharatanatyam, etc., will be fine-tuned.

The products prepared by these children will be displayed on the valedictory session of the workshop.

Training

Former principal of Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai, Chandru, Koonthankulam Paulpandi, Sornam, Marimuthu, Mahalakshmi, Kathir and others will train the children who will stay at TDCC itself for three days. Award-winning children’s movies would be screened on every night.
