Presence of robots and its usage in diverse fields like medicine, automotive and other industries are of great significance, said K.B. Prathik, Project Engineer, Idea Fire, Bangalore here on Wednesday. Inaugurating the two-day workshop on robotics ‘AUTOBOTIX’ organised by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Students’ Chapter at the Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur, he exhorted the students to go after the resources as they could help them in materialising their ideas into novel projects. “Robotics is a confluence of Electronics, Software and Mechanical Engineering.” It might have greater scope in years to come. There is a great demand for Android in the Defence forces,” he added.

In his presidential address, N.S. Badarinarayanan, Dean, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, said that the need of the hour is to transfer the professional knowledge to the minds of common man.

He also stressed on the need for students to equip themselves to gain knowledge and to utilise them in a more constructive way, as it would pave way for the nation’s development.
