Department of Marine Biotechnology, Bharathidasan University, will conduct a national workshop on ‘Drugs Discovery and Development (JeevDRUGS'11) on November 2 and 3.

The workshop will feature drug discovery and development through lectures by industrialists and eminent experts, group discussions, case studies presentation, and exchange of experiences.

Intellectual Property Rights

Scientists, specialists and experts from pharma industries on ‘drug discovery overview', ‘bioinformatics in drug discovery', ‘preclinical studies', ‘reverse pharmacology', ‘importance of Intellectual Property Rights in drug discovery', and ‘drug resistance' will make presentations.

According to the Organising Secretary M.Sundararaman, Associate Professor in the Department, the workshop will familiarise young minds aspiring for a career in the field of pharmaceuticals with the fundamental significance of the different phases of drug discovery and development.

Research scholars in national laboratories, universities and colleges; students of B.Pharm, M.Pharm and postgraduate students in biology/ life sciences/ medical discipline; scientists and corporate personnel are eligible to apply.
