ERODE: Work to build combined court complex and residences for judicial officers in Erode will begin on Saturday with a foundation laying ceremony.
Justice K. Raviraja Pandian of Madras High Court along with State Ministers Durai Murugan, PWD, M. P. Saminathan, Highways and Ports, and others will inaugurate the works, worth over Rs. 5 crore.
Of the Rs. 5 crore, about Rs. 3.5 crore will be spent towards the combined court complex, which will come up at the Sessions Court premises at Sampath Nagar.
The rest of the allotted sum will be utilised for building residences for judicial officers, likely to come up near Karaivaikkal.
The building as and when it comes up will fulfil a long-felt need of the judicial fraternity the district.
