The Madras High Court Bench here on Thursday confirmed the conviction and life sentence imposed on a mother of three and her paramour for killing her husband by serving poisoned chicken curry, assaulting with a crow bar and then strangulating him to death with a nylon rope at Thirukampuliyur in Karur district on April 12, 2009.

Dismissing a criminal appeal filed by Radha alias Anuradha and Ranjithkumar, a Division Bench comprising Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice P. Devadass held that the prosecution had established the guilt of the accused and proved sans any doubt that it was the appellants who had murdered Mayavan, a tea shop owner, for he was an hindrance to continuing their illicit intimacy.
