DHARMAPURI: A post-graduate woman kept under house arrest by her husband for more than a year was on Sunday rescued by the police along with her two daughters.

Dharmapuri town police went to the house in Gandhi Nagar here after receiving a telephone call.

According to police, Rajeswari Padmavathi, an M.A., M.Phil graduate, pleaded to the police to rescue them from the house. Immediately, the police contacted her husband over his mobile, but there was no response from him. Soon, an advocate friend of her husband came with the house key. All three were rescued.
