Jyothi (28) was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her house in Palladam on Wednesday.

According to police sources, the deceased was employed as a textile industry worker.

Three suicides

Three persons committed suicides in separate incidents in the district on Tuesday night.

K. Nataraj (55) and E. Prem Nazir (37) ended their lives by hanging at Vasantham Nagar in Tirupur city and Udumalpet, respectively.

Both were said to have been facing problems in their marital lives which led them to take the extreme step.

In the other case, K. Palanisamy (40) consumed poison to kill himself at Salaipudur under Palladam police station limits.

The deceased was mentally upset for the past few days as he could not get a job.

Theft

A car belonging to V. Arumugam (30) was stolen from the city on Tuesday night. The car was said to have been parked at Nesavalar Colony. The Tirupur North police are investigating.

Hunt for youth

The district police are on the look for four youth who allegedly harassed a 17-year-old girl studying at a matriculation higher secondary school at Palladam.

Police sources said the girl, a Class XII student, was teased and harassed by the youth while she was going to school during the last few days.

The girl was subsequently threatened by the accused when she did not respond to their comments made on her.
