Welfare assistance worth Rs. 37 lakh was distributed to 65 beneficiaries at a special mass contact programme held at Kongapalli village near Krishnagiri on Wednesday.
Collector (in-charge) C. Prakasam distributed the assistance.
Farm equipment were given free of cost to three persons under the National Agricultural Development Programme and the horticulture department distributed vegetable seeds to six farmers.
Mr. Parakasm received 192 petitions from the public, who had come from Thammandarapalli, Nachikuppam, Balanapalli, Konegoundanur, Naduvanapalli, Suriyanapalli, Manavaranapalli, Periyamanavaranapalli, Sigaralapalli and other villages. He called up on the officials to expedite processing the petitions.
Earlier, the Department of Information and Public Relations screened documentaries on the achievements of the Government and also the welfare schemes being implemented by the government departments.
Revenue Divisional Officer P. Manoharan and other district level officials participated.
