CHENNAI: Governor Surjit Singh Barnala inaugurated a website of IAS Officers’ Wives Association (IASOWA) of Tamil Nadu here on Monday.

Various social welfare measures such as distribution of hearing aid for students with disability were initiated as part of the launch of the website. “The distribution of hearing aid by the Governor has created enthusiasm among the students with disability. Meeting the Governor will also inspire them towards seeking excellence in life,” said J. Balagurusamy, one of the teachers of the students. These functions with opportunity to meet eminent people energise our students and help them cope with their disability, said S. Dhanaraj, another teacher of St. Louis Institute for the Deaf and Blind.

The website www.iasowatn.com will help the organisation become more efficient in serving the society in this digital era, said Indira Sripathi, president of IASOWA.

The IASOWA has been in existence for the past 36 years. The office bearers and the committee members meet once in three months to plan future actions based on the vision of the organisation.
