Women Entrepreneurs Association of Tamil Nadu (WEAT) has invited women manufacturers intending to introduce their new products in the market to take part in the two-day exhibition-cum-sale “NABARD Bazaar” to be held in near the Central Bus Stand here on March 25 and 26.
Non-governmental organisations in Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Perambalur, Thanjavur, Karur, and Ariyalur districts are expected to encourage self-help-group and women entrepreneurs under their guidance to take part in the exhibition so that the manufacturers can introduce their products to the public and secure marketing support, M. Manimozhi, Administrative Officer, WEAT, said in a press release.
Cost-effective, yet, quality products, including readymade garments, terracotta toys, purse, handicraft, glass paintings, sanitary napkins, herbal wash products, medicines, snacks, pickles, paper bags, paper cups, minor millet-based valued added products, fancy jewels, jute based bags, fur toys, and other home-based products, will be made available at the exhibition, the release said, and sought encouraging public patronage for the NABARD-sponsored event aimed at encouraging women SHG’s and women entrepreneurs.
Private industries intending to introduce their innovative products were welcome to take part, Ms. Manimozhi said and that women seeking to become entrepreneurs would be given free counselling for self-employment, and guidance to secure bank credit.
