Water in tanker lorries will be supplied to areas where there are complaints about sewage mixing with drinking water, Municipal Administration and Rural Development Minister K.P. Munusamy told the Assembly on Friday.

Responding to CPI(M) floor leader A. Soundararajan, who complained about sewage mixing with drinking water in many areas in his constituency, the Minister said already Rs 150 crore had been allotted to prevent untreated sewage from entering into waterways.

“If there are problems, we will supply water in tanker lorries,” he said, adding that 831 MLD water was being supplied in Chennai every day.
