MADURAI: The level in the Periyar dam on Tuesday stood at 133 feet (full level 136 feet) with no inflow and discharge. The level in the Vaigai dam was 70.87 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 192 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 7,594 mcft.

Rain, accompanied by gusty wind, lashed the city in the evening giving residents respite at the end of a 37.4-degree Celsius blistering Tuesday. Erratic power supply and uprooting of trees were reported from some parts of the city.
