In a bid to collect tax arrears from the defaulters, the Corporation has started disconnecting drinking water connections to the defaulters’ houses, shops and other properties. In a statement, Assistant Commissioner (In-Charge) L.K. Bhaskar said an intensive drive was under way to collect property, vacant land and drinking water tax arrears from the public and the drinking water connections to the defaulters’ properties were being disconnected. When the drive was conducted at Palayamkottai, Paathaalamaadan Street, Sudalai Temple Street, Tiruchendur Road, Rahmath Nagar and V.M. Chathram, all falling under Palayamkottai Zone, drinking water connections to 10 buildings were cut on Friday.
