He makes surprise visit to school and interacts with students
SALEM: All India Congress Committee General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, on the third day of his visit to Tamil Nadu, arrived in Salem on Thursday afternoon.
He was greeted by the senior party leaders and people in the city.
Mr. Gandhi, after meeting the members of the youth wing of the party in Krishnagiri, arrived at Salem Airport by a special flight.
Amid heavy security, he reached the Ponnusamy Goundar Kalyana Mandapam, where the meeting with the members of youth wing was arranged.
En route, he had a brief stop at Mamangam, where he spoke with the people present there.
Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K.V. Thankgabalu, senior leaders including Salem West District Secretary R.R. Sekaran, East District Secretary Devadoss accompanied Mr. Gandhi.
On his way back to Salem Airport after the meeting, he made a surprise visit to Sri Sarada Vidhyalaya higher secondary school and interacted with the students.
Mr. Gandhi shook hands with the schoolgirls and also autographed in their notebooks.
