The 9th International Congress on English Grammar-ICEG 2013-will be held at VIT University from January 3 to 5. The VIT is hosting the congress in association with Systemic Functional Linguists. More than 300 delegates from India and abroad will be participating in the congress, whose theme is ‘Lexicogrammar and the new millennium learners.’

G. Viswanathan, VIT Chancellor, said in a release that the congress would promote discussion among researchers interested in English grammar, lexicography, linguistics, English language teaching, and Information and Communication Technology in language teaching. The outcome would pave the way for incorporating latest trends and techniques. The main theme of the congress is to insist on the importance of Lexicogrammar to establish new techniques of teaching suitable for the new millennium generation of learners. ICEG 2013 aims at promoting a platform for scholarly discussions on major changes in the new millennium teaching.

The call for papers would be open till November 20, and the last date for registration is December 3. Details could be found at http://www.vit.ac.in/
