VIT University, Vellore, will be conducting a South India-level science contest for school children on January 10 and 11, 2014, to create and encourage scientific innovations in young minds at the school level.
According to a communication from the VIT, students studying in Standards IX to XII are eligible to participate in the contest. Topics include aerodynamics and hydrodynamics projects, astronomy projects, investigative science projects, working science models, science games for kids, environmental engineering models, life science projects and models, projects related to human biology and health, mammalian biology, microbiology, plant biology, zoology, botany, software, solar energy science, pure mathematics, planet science, chemistry, physics, robotics, electronics, space, transportation, earth science models and electricity project models.
Preliminary round would be conducted for all events. Participants of working model, idea presentation and poster presentation have to send a short write-up of their work, not more than 200 words, before December 10. These abstracts would be reviewed by an expert committee and the list of participants selected for the final round on January 10 and 11 announced on the website, www.vit.ac.in/inovit2014, on December 15.
For quiz, the preliminary round would be conducted on January 11. Registered participants alone are permitted to participate in the contest. Registration form can be downloaded from the above website.
Photocopies of registration form could be completed and sent to the Organising Secretary-InoVIT 2014, VIT University, Vellore-632014 on or before December 10. No spot entry is allowed except for quiz. Online registration can be done at the above website.
