TIRUNELVELI: Members of the Visually Challenged Welfare Association took out a rally from the VOC Stadium to the School for Visually Impaired here on Saturday to thank the State Government and the Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi, for the slew of welfare measures announced for the physically challenged.

The association thanked the Chief Minister for creating an exclusive department and a welfare board for the differently-abled; offering travel concession in government buses; sanctioning unemployment dole for 10 years for educated physically challenged persons below 40 years of age; incentive for marriage and similar announcements. Later, a meeting was held to thank the Chief Minister for the concessions offered for the differently-abled.
