Fair price shops to sell other items also

DINDIGUL: Roads leading to several villages in the district would be upgraded to improve connectivity.

To begin with, roads connecting Moolachatram, Sempatti and Chettipatti would be renovated at a cost of Rs.16 crore, said the Minister for Revenue, I. Periasamy.

Distributing colour television sets to beneficiaries at Nelamalaikotti village, near here recently, he said that more rural road works would be taken up this year.

Steps also would be taken to sell other products, besides essential commodities in fair price shops.

Later, the minister distributed television sets to 727 beneficiaries.
