In all the seven constituencies in Dindigul district
DINDIGUL: The door-to-door verification of voter list with draft electoral rolls began in all the seven constituencies in the district on Thursday.
After launching the verification work at Begampur near here, Collector R. Vasuki said that the exercise would continue up to August 14.
A total of 1,431 field staff, including Anganwadi workers, village administrative officers and nutrition staff, have been deputed for the work. They would visit each and every house and personally verify the name, address and persons with the draft electoral rolls which was released on June 17. They would also take up the correction of spelling mistakes in the names and other details.
Stickers to be affixed on houses
After verification, a sticker would be affixed on the door of each house and a receipt also given to the head of the family, she added.
People, whose name did not figure in the rolls, should apply in Form VI along with a photograph to the officer concerned. Similarly, people who had migrated to another place within the same assembly constituency should apply in Form VIII-A along with a photograph.
For deletion and inclusion of names or any correction, voters should submit necessary forms before July 31 to booth level officers or at the polling stations concerned.
Total voters in the district as per draft electoral rolls, are 11,89,581 including 5,94,432 men and 5,95,149 women.
