For the first time, vehicles were shipped from Tuticorin to Maldives through by V.O. Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin, on Monday. As many as 85 cars of different types and 35 two wheelers were dispatched.
M.V. Anushree Fame, which sailed off the coast, was expected to reach the destination in three days. The consignments were sent through Mascons Shipping Agencies Private Limited under the support of the loading agent, Villavarayer and Sons. Sources said these vehicles were sent to Maldives for the requirement of Defence Ministry.
Superintendent of Police, K.A. Senthil Velan has extended cooperation in connection with the programme.
