Using cell phone while driving

print   ·   T  T

It is appalling to see an increasing number of two-wheeler riders talking on their cell phones while driving. Such reckless people not only risk their own lives but also those of innocent law-abiding road users. It is high time the Puducherry police took stern action to strictly ban the use of cell phones while driving.

Chief Secretariat office

The Puducherry Chief Secretariat Office is located on Beach Road, which attracts a lot of tourists. The maintenance of this office has degraded and it looks shabby. The front view, facing east, is in a bad condition with holes and loose wires. The northern side of this office is the French Embassy building, which looks elegant. The southern side is congested with tea stalls. I request the authorities to take steps to beautify the CSO building.

Open railway line

The festival of transit of Saturn (Sanipayirchi) falls on December 21 this year, for which several lakhs of devotees are expected to converge at Tirunallar shrine in Karaikal. The newly laid BG track between Karaikal and Nagore should be opened to passenger traffic immediately. This will facilitate all trains originating and terminating at Nagore to do so at Karaikal.
