A meeting of headmasters of government and matriculation schools was held here on Saturday. N. Arul Murugan, Chief Educational Officer, advised the headmasters to utilise the latest information and communication techniques, particularly internet.

He advised the headmasters to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of toilet blocks in schools.

Teachers should monitor the health of students attending schools without taking breakfast.

He also advised the teachers to have an interaction with parents on the academic performance of students. He told the headmasters to identify the academically weak students and ensure extra coaching for them.

From Monday, a week-long ‘Joy of Giving’ celebration would be held in all the schools. Students from higher income groups would be motivated to donate gifts to the economically weaker sections.
