A State-level campaign on ‘eradication of untouchability’ concluded here recently. Led by M. Jayaseelan, State deputy secretary of Untouchability Eradication Movement, the volunteers organised meeting at several places. The team comprised Renuka, Rajanikanth, Muthusamy, Jagadeesan, Appu and Mathiyadas as campaign members. The campaign was held at Keeranur, Aranthangi and Karambakudi. S. Rajasekaran, former MLA of Communist Party of India, said that efforts should be immediately made to fight this social evil. Shanmuga Palaniappan, former councillor, was present.
