‘It should be done at the time of publishing the results'

The University Coordination Council (UCC) meeting of the Association of University Teachers, Tamil Nadu, Salem Periyar University Area has urged the University to make arrangements to issue provisional and other necessary certificates at the time of publishing the results to those students who complete their three-year courses.

The Association in its press release also pointed out that all the vacant posts in the university should immediately be filled.

Principal, teaching faculty and other staff should be appointed on permanent basis in the constituent colleges of the University at Pennagaram and Mettur.

The admissions to Distance Education had come down it noted with concern and asked the University to take necessary steps to increase the number of admissions to it from this year.

The University also should place before the appropriate forum for discussion before introducing new courses.

Similarly permission should be sought before giving permission to start new colleges.

University could only verify the applications from the concerned.

The meeting resolved that teaching faculty should not be asked to man administration works as it would be against the rules of University and also would affect their academic performances, it claimed.

It would not serve its objective, it further said and asked the Vice Chancellor to withdraw the same.
