The Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, on Saturday appealed to people to know and understand the religious beliefs, values and feelings of people of other faiths. This is essential for promoting peace and universal brotherhood. This will go a long way in spreading correct knowledge about history, traditions and culture of all religions.
He was speaking at a national conference on “Inter-faith dialogue and peace building” organised by Stella Maris College for Women here.
He condemned attempts by religious and political leaders to incite hatred between communities as was witnessed in the recent past. He urged the government to treat such attempts as disrupting communal harmony and as direct attacks on secularism and democracy. — Special Correspondent
