Coimbatore: District Collector Neeraj Mittal and the City Police Commissioner C.K. Gandhirajan said on Friday that all unauthorised advertisement hoarding in the district would be removed from Monday.

Those who had erected hoarding should produce copies of permission granted to them by officials concerned, they told reporters here.

According to a survey carried out by the administration, nearly 131 hoarding were found to be unauthorised. The drive is based on the recent directive of the Madras High Court to remove unauthorised hoarding. The expenses incurred for removal would be charged to persons who had installed them, Mr.Mittal said. The survey had identified 177 hoarding put up by political parties.

The administration had already informed the political parties to remove them.
