KARUR: District Revenue Officer C. Munirathinam handed over Ulemas Social Welfare Board membership identity cards to 98 persons here recently.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Munirathinam said that the State Government was offering a slew of welfare measures and benefits to the members of the Ulemas Social Welfare Board including Rs. 1 lakh for death due to accident, compensation from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1 lakh in case of disability due to accident, aid for funeral, educational aid, marriage assistance and maternity aid for the members and their dependents besides the Rs. 400 per month senior citizens pension.
Eligible persons in Karur district should come forward to enrol themselves in the Board to enjoy the benefits, Mr. Munirathinam said. Backward Classes Welfare Officer Dasaratha Ramasubramanian, Special Deputy Collectors A. Narayanamoorthy and Arumugam, were present.
