To promote technical knowledge in urban forestry, Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding is organising a training programme on ‘Innovative Training Programme for Urban Forestry' on March 1 and 2.

Topics include urban environment and role of trees in combating pollution, urban greening projects – past experiences and future strategies, species selection for urban forestry, upkeep and management in urban forestry, establishment and management of botanical gardens and parks in urban areas, regulations in planting and felling of trees in urban areas and role of NGOs in greening urban areas.

Training programme will be held in two batches and there is no registration fee.
