Two panchaloha idols were unearthed at Thottakudi village in Kodavasal taluk near here on Friday.

Workers who were digging pits for installing deep bore-wells stumbled upon the idols at Maragathavalli Manikundreswarar temple.

The idols were that of Sivakamasundari Amman, which was two-ft high weighing 10 kilos and that of Pradosha Vinayagar which is 1.5 ft high weighing 4.5 kilos. The Kumbabishekam for the temple will be held on April 8. The bore-well installation works were taken up as part of the Kumbabishekam preparation.

The workers informed the tasildhar of Kodavasal Srinivasan taluk and Village Administrative Officer of Thottakudi village, Kumar. They came to the temple and took possession of the idols.
