TIRUCHI: Two persons were killed and four others suffered injuries when a lorry rammed a stationary ambulance on the Tiruchi-Pudukottai Highway at Subramaniapuram here late Saturday night.

According to police, a two-wheeler rider suffered injuries when his vehicle hit a median while negotiating a sharp curve. Passersby stopped 108 ambulance, which was crossing that way, in which Rajeshwari of Tiruvalarchipatti in Pudukottai district was being taken to a city hospital. When the two-wheeler rider was being shifted to the ambulance, the lorry rammed it. Rajeshwari and Senthil (23) of Pallivilai, a lab technician attached to the ambulance, were killed on the spot. The four occupants of the ambulance were injured and admitted to hospital.
