: Two persons who were part of a gang that allegedly cheated a man and relieved him of Rs.11 lakh were arrested by the Crime Branch CID police on Tuesday.

T. Carlose of Choolaimedu here, who was looking for admission in a medical college for his daughter, approached one Om Krishna Jyothi of Bangalore after coming across an advertisement in the Internet.

Jyothi, his friends Aminesh Pandey and Manish Kumar Sha promised to arrange a medical seat and took Rs.11 lakh from Carlose. They gave him some fake documents pertaining to admission in a private medical college.

Carlose lodged a complaint with the CBCID. A special team formed to investigate the complaint arrested Pandey and Sha of Jharkhand in Chennai on Tuesday.

Cash totalling Rs.2.15 lakh and a car were recovered from them.
