CHENNAI: A special party from the Aminjikarai police on Monday arrested two persons here who had earlier absconded after allegedly committing a murder in May this year.

A police press release said on May 8, Rambabu (45) of Uttar Pradesh was stabbed to death by three persons. The murderers had taken away a mobile phone and some cash from the victim’s house.

The special party arrested Munnalal, one of the persons involved in the murder last month. Two of his accomplices were absconding. On Monday, the police secured the two, who were identified as M.Gangaram (43) and G. Prakash (23) on Halls Road, Kilpauk and recovered the stolen cellular phone and cash. Both were remanded to custody, the release said.
