Coimbatore: Special teams of Coimbatore Rural District Police have arrested two persons and have recovered Rs 1.35 lakh worth of gold jewellery weighing around 15 sovereigns from them.

Following frequent incidents of chain snatching and waylaying in Murugampalayam, K. Chettipalayam, Ponmuthu Nagar and SRB Nagar, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore Rural District, G. Karthikeyan and Deputy Superintendent of Police, P. Muthuraj constituted special teams.

The special teams stormed the hideouts of two habitual offenders in Tirupur Kallangadu area, Karthik (24) of Kodaikkanal and Aravind (23) of Kanyakumari, and recovered the stolen jewellery from their possession. Further investigations are on in the case.
