Five persons were fined Rs. 12,000 each on Thursday for having shared the meat of a wild boar.

According to Kattabettu Forest Ranger K. Saravanakumar, a wild boar had died after getting entangled in a barbed wire fence erected along a farm at Masakkal, near Kookalthorai.

The accused belonging to Masakkal had removed the carcass and shared the meat. They were nabbed on Wednesday.
