Two spacious dormitories would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.60 lakh in the temple town for the convenience of pilgrims. They could stay in these dormitories for free, said P.R. Sampath, Commissioner, HR&CE.

Talking to press reporters after inaugurating an automated teller machine, the 74 {+t} {+h} one in Region IV of State Bank of India near Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy Temple administrative office here on Thursday, he said the dormitories would help big teams of pilgrims stay with all comforts. Each dormitory would accommodate around 2,500 pilgrims. At a time, 5,000 pilgrims would stay in these two dormitories. Sufficient toilet and bathroom facilities would be provided there. More over, additional toilets would be constructed on all four Giri Veedhis around the hill to keep the roads neat and tidy, he added.

The second rope car would be ready within next three months. This could be used only for transporting materials including construction materials and bring down wastes.
