Between Thanjavur-Chennai

THANJAVUR: The Tamil Nadu State Express Transport Corporation has introduced air-conditioned bus service on the Thanjavur–Chennai sector. Union Minister of State for Finance S. S. Palani Manickam flagged off the maiden service at a brief function held here on Sunday.

Two buses will be operated daily in this section.

The AC buses will leave Thanjavur at 12.30 p.m. and 10.35 p.m. and from Chennai at 12 noon and 10.45 p.m. These buses will cover the distance in seven hours and 30 minutes and the ticket fare is Rs. 280.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Palani Manickam thanked the Chief Minister and the Transport Minister for introducing this facility.

Collector C. Vijayaraj Kumar presided over the function. MLAs Durai Chandrasekaran and K. T. Mahesh Krishnasamy and Corporation branch manager Sekar were present on the occasion.
