Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding, Coimbatore, is organising tree growers' mela on February 23 and 24.

A release says that the institute is also organising a workshop on ‘Tree Farming for Sustainable Livelihood' as part of the mela.

Issues related to cultivation and management of tree species predominantly grown in farm and agroforestry of Tamil Nadu, medicinal plants, integrated pest and disease management, quality planting, stock production, industries and institutions in plantation forestry, farmers' experience on farm and agroforestry practices, etc. will be discussed.

More than 1,000 farmers from various parts of the State are expected to participate. An exhibition on ‘Agroforestry and Farm Forestry Technologies' will also be held.
