Thanjavur: Collector C. Vijayaraj Kumar has appealed to the

differently-abled persons to improve their skills while learning under various training programmes of the Government.

The Collector, who inaugurated a free training programme in tailoring for them at the District Rehabilitation Office here on Tuesday, demonstrated his skills in stitching to encourage the trainees.

The trainees should visit houses to get orders.

They should produce quality dresses at a reasonable price, the Collector said.

The training was jointly organised by District Rehabilitation Office, Bhakthavachalam Memorial Trust Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Innerwheel Club of Thanjavur.

R. Shyamala, District Rehabilitation Officer, M. Valayapathi, Chief Manager, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Rajendran, Lead District Manager, IOB, Jaganathan, Director, Rural Training Centre, IOB, Punitha Ganesan, President of Innerwheel Club of Thanjavur S. Kasturi, District Social Welfare Officer participated in the function.
