SALEM: Senior government officials should educate their subordinates about various administrative procedures and conduct rules, Collector N. Mathivanan has said.

Inaugurating a training programme for government officials here recently, the Collector pointed out that many senior officials did not remember the procedures and rules due to lack of proper training. The pilot programme would help them to know various procedures, rules regarding the conduct and disciplinary action. Mr. Mathivanan appealed to enquiry officers to complete the cases pending with them quickly.

The delay in the process would affect the officials facing the enquiry mentally.

He said that the erring officials should be punished after proper enquiry. A short-term training programme would be organised from March 28 to 30 for 40 officials. Officials from Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department conducted the programme. About 30 officials from various departments attended the training programme. Salem District Inspection Cell officer Thirunavukkarasu and Joint Director of Agriculture Janagan made the arrangements.
