About 250 elementary school teachers from Andhanallur, Manikandam and Manapparai unions in the district would undergo a training programme on earlier identification of dyslexia, a learning disorder, among children on December 15. The training organised by the Department of School Education in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) would orient the teachers towards early identification of the disorder and train them on how they could help children with the disorder improve their leaning abilities. A team of paediatricians would conduct the training to be held at Boys Higher Secondary School, Srirangam, V.Sivaprakasam, president, IAP, Tamil Nadu, said in a release.
